2008 Summer / Fall Travel Registration

Registration Information

All parents with children (9U through 14U age groups) wishing to try out for ABL’s summer and fall travel teams must do so by Friday April 11^th. Online registration will commence the April 1.

Try outs are tentatively scheduled for weekdays/nights of April 14, 15, 16. The 9Us, 10Us, 11Us most probably from 4-6PM; 12Us, 13Us, 14Us 6-8PM at IBM 2 and 3. There will be no other dates for tryouts. The 16^th is a rain date.

The try out fee will be $25 per child payable online with a credit card as part of the registration process.

Final date, time and location information will be emailed to all registered participants the week of April 7^th.

For 2008, we will be going to two try out sessions to allow more in-depth evaluation by our independent coaches of each player. This should help eliminate the oft heard “But my child just had a bad day”. Now there will be two days for each child to demonstrate skills and the try outs will include pitching and catcher evaluations for those interested. If a player cannot make two days, then a one-day evaluation will be used for that child.

An independent group of professionals has been hired by Armonk Baseball League to evaluate and rate all players who participate in the try out.

All players should wear baseball pants, hat, cleats, and protective cup, and they must bring their own baseball glove, bat and water.

Players should arrive at the field 15 minutes before their scheduled try out time. Try outs will last one hour and forty-five minutes.

In case of rain before or on the day of try outs, please check the league website for updates on cancellations.

Remember, these are highly competitive try outs, with only 12 players selected for a team. Therefore, not everyone who tries out will make the team. Please prepare your child for that eventuality. No challenges to team selection will be allowed.
