Dear ABL Families,

With Spring just around the corner, we hope that you’re as excited as we are for the little league season to begin. If you have not already registered for the Spring season, please click "Registration Info" on the top of the page and register your child as soon as possible. For the Instructional and Minors Divisions, we expect to communicate team assignments the week of April 2^nd. For the Intermediates and Majors Divisions, team assignments will be dependent upon a to be scheduled player draft. We expect the drafts to be held on April 5th, with additional details to be shared with coaches in advance.

In advance of the start of the season, we wanted to share the following important information:

• Schedule: Practices for the Spring 2021 Season will begin on Monday, April 5^th (subject to field availability), according to the schedule below. Opening Day (i.e., the first games, as well as the Opening Day Ceremony) is scheduled for Saturday, April 24^th. Additional details will follow about the time and location of Opening Day ceremonies. We expect the season to end on Saturday, June 19^th.

• Instructional Divisions (Pre-K and K):

• Regular Practice: Wednesdays from 4pm – 515pm at IBM Fields 1 and 4 (note: please meet at IBM Field 1 and the coaches will split the children between Fields 1 and 4 for practice).
• Flex Practice: see note below.
• Games: Saturdays from 4pm – 530pm (fields TBD. Division coordinators will send out game schedules once teams have been finalized).

• Minors Division (1^st and 2^nd grade):

• Regular Practice: Mondays from 4pm – 515pm at IBM Fields 3 and 4 (note: please meet at IBM Field 3 and the coaches will split the children between Fields 3 and 4 for practice).
• Flex Practice: see note below.
• Games: Saturdays from 2pm – 4pm (fields TBD. Division coordinators will send out game schedules once teams have been finalized).

• Intermediates (3^rd and 4^th grade):

• Practice/Games: Thursdays from 530pm – 730pm, Saturdays from 12pm – 2pm (note: Thursdays will be practices from the week of April 5 through Opening Day. Following Opening Day, both Thursdays and Saturdays will be games. Fields TBD).

• Majors (5^th, 6^th and 7^th grade):

• Practice: Tuesdays from 530pm – 730pm, Saturdays from 930am – 1130am (note: Tuesdays will be practices from the week of April 5 through Opening Day. Following Opening Day, both Tuesdays and Saturdays will be games. Fields TBD).

• Flex Practices (for Instructional and Minors Divisions Only): For those children in the Instructional or Minor divisions only (i.e., Pre-K, K, 1^st, 2^nd), to the extent there is sufficient interest, we will have a flex practice on Tuesdays from 4pm – 515pm at either Lombardi 1 or Town Hall (to be determined based on interest level). This practice is meant to be a flex practice, only for those children that are unable to attend practice on their regularly scheduled day because of previously existing conflicts. If you wish for your child to attend Tuesday’s flex practice in lieu of the regularly scheduled practice (for the 2021 Spring Season (i.e., children may not switch days week to week)), please email [email protected] with the subject line: FLEX PRACTICE REQUEST, and include in the body your child’s name and grade level, so that we can ascertain interest and ensure proper coach coverage.

• Covid Protocols: We expect to begin the season requiring all players, coaches and umpires (where applicable) to wear masks while on the field or in the dugout. We will be closely following all available guidance and expect to issue another email on this topic as we get closer to the start of the season.

• Equipment: all children are required to have, at a minimum, their own glove and batting helmet. We also encourage all children to wear a protective cup, and cups are required at the Intermediates and Majors level. • Rules: Divisions Coordinators will communicate division-specific rules to each team in advance of the season.

• Final Note on Registration: while registration fees technically increased on March 1, we will be extending a $75 credit to anyone that signs up by this Friday, March 19^th. This $75 credit will be applied to any future registrations. If you have already signed up post-March 1 and paid the full registration fee, please email us at [email protected] with the subject line: REGISTRATION CREDIT, and include your child’s name and grade level and we will ensure that you are provided with the $75 credit for future registrations.
