Given the high level of interest in travel baseball at all age levels, Armonk Baseball League will hold player evaluations for the formation of travel teams that will compete in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League (www.ghvbl.com) in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.  Teams selected are for the full year (Fall and Spring).  Additional players will only be added to Spring teams to the extent roster spots become available. 

If your child is interested in being considered for the travel program, please register for an evaluation session at www.armonkbaseball.org under Registration Info, then Available Programs. For groups with multiple options please select the day you intend to come.

Please note that these player evaluations are for the travel program only and are NOT required for our recreational program.

Important evaluation information:

• For travel baseball, the age cut-off date is April 30, which means that your child's travel age is his/her age on April 30, 2025.  For example, a child with a birthday in May (or later) 2016 will be 8u, while a child with a birthday between May 2015 and April 2016 will be 9u.  
• Tryouts will be run by one of our professional coaching partners. 
• Players should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled tryout time to allow for the check in process. 
• Players should wear either color rec jersey. 
• Players should bring a glove, bat and helmet to the evaluation and be prepared to participate in batting, fielding, throwing and running drills.
• We will hold evaluations for 8U, 9U, 10u and 11u travel only.  12u will be handled separately.
• Parents should not stay to watch tryouts.  Please drop your child(ren) off and return at the end of the session.

Other information:

• As noted, this is for 8U, 9U, 10U and 11U travel ONLY.  We expect to continue our Fall recreational program for younger children with more details to come later this summer.  Children wishing to participate only in the Fall recreational program should NOT attend the travel evaluations.  Children born after April 30, 2017 may try out for the 8U team (there is no 7U option).
• If you are not able to attend the evaluation sessions, but still wish to be considered for the Fall travel program, please reply to this email so we can set up an alternative.  This should only occur in limited circumstances.
• To the extent there is excess interest at a particular age level, we may determine to form more than one team to provide additional exposure to the travel program.  If you did not make a travel team in the past, but are still interested in participating in travel, we strongly encourage you to try out.
• While it is too early to know our schedule, we expect to try to work around other popular activities to afford the greatest number of children the opportunity to play.  As Fall fields become available and other schedules become known, we'll communicate further information, though I would expect at least one weekday afternoon practice and one/two weekend games per week (which may be double headers).  More information on the travel season league, calendar and rules can be found on www.ghvbl.com.
