2016 Baseball / Softball Year in Review
First, I would like to thank all of the families who continue to enroll your children in our Town Little League program. The ABL/ASL Boards with the volunteer coaches truly make this a community-first organization.
Second, I would like to recognize and thank the ABL/ASL Board Members for committing so much time 12 months out of the year to make sure our kids get to experience America’s pastime.
Third, without the support of our sponsors and families, most of what we do (i.e. field improvements, scholarships) would not be able to take place. Be sure to check out the sponsors on our Sponsorship Page.
Fourth, we have support from Little League and leverage Little League guidelines in our decision making process. For example,
“The outcome of a game will never outlive the pride of belonging, the experience of playing, the friends and the fun. The essence of Little League is the people, their communities, and the everlasting bond between them.”
The goal for Armonk Baseball/Softball is developing the player, learning about being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. We as an organization and as a community must keep in mind that baseball/softball is one of the hardest sports to learn (especially for younger players) and we need to give players time to develop and learn the game.
Finally, the players, coaches and leagues accomplished quite a bit in 2016:
A pretty long list of accomplishments and the Board looks forward to another successful 2017!
