Congratulations to our 2017 Lady Bobcats 12U Summer Travel Team!

The 2017 Lady Bobcats 12U summer team finished the WPBA summer league in first place after an 11-2 record.   Being name WPBA League Champions!!  Congratulations to all the girls on a fantastic season.

New for 2017 Spring League - Pitchers to Wear Fielding Masks

In the interest of player safety.  All pitchers at every level will be required to wear fielding masks!!!  A minimum of one mask will be provided with the teams equipment.  However, it is encouraged for all pitcher to have their own masks.  I would also recommend at the younger levels for all families to consider having their child, regardless of position wear a fielding mask.

Sincerely,

ABOUT US

Armonk Softball League (ASL) came under ABL management in the Winter of 2012.  Since that time the league has steadily grown in both size and performance.  With a continued emphasis on fun, sportsmanship and overall player development.

Our goal is to encourage girls in the sport of softball at a young age.  We aim to provide excellent training and guidance so that they will develop the necessary skills to compete at the high school level one day.

Our approach includes offering a recreational Spring League, and more competitive Summer and Fall Travel Leagues which require tryouts.  Throughout the year, we offer a range of clinics--often run by professional coaches and college players.  These clinics are instrucmental in developing pitching, fielding and hitting skills.

Spring Recreational Softball

The ASL proudly competes in the District 20 League for Spring recreational softball.  Girls in grades K & 1 (6U) have instructional play twice a week and do not compete in league play.  Girls grades 2 & 3 (8U) participate in our Rookies division which begins to introduce the elements of game play with coach pitching.  Girls grades 4-5 (10U) and 6-7 (12U) play fast pitch softball competing with other local Westchester towns.  Multiple teams are formed in each age group.  Teams are parent coached.  College players will "guest coach" throughout the season, helping girls to fine tune their skills.

The Recreational League is largely a voluntary effort.  Parents dedicate their time, effort and exeplary leadership to teach our girls teamwork, discipline and qualities of good citizenship.

Practices are once a week with 1-2 games rotating between weeknights and weekends.  Games are both local and in nearby towns.

Summer & Fall Travel Leagues

Tryouts are held for our Summer and Fall Travel Leagues and tournament play.  Advanced Armonk players will take the first spots on any given team and additional players will be recruited from other towns.  Teams will be coached by professionals to give the girls proper training, techniques and a winning edge.

Exciting Announcement! Pace University agrees to partner with Armonk Softball

I am really excited to announce that Armonk Softball and Pace University Softball have agreed to partner together to continue the development of our softball program.  Starting this fall, Pace University led by Head coach Claudia Stabile and her players will formally run our off season program.  They will be conducting specialized clinics for each of our divisions and travel teams.  Clinics will be conducted weekly throughout the fall and winter leading up to the spring season.

In addition, Pace University will be leading clinics designed to enhance the education and skill of our parent coaches by creating specialized clinics around all aspects of softball, with an increased emphasis on pitching.  We expect these clinics to kick off in January/February.

This is a big step in the development of our program and gets us one step closer to my goal of making Armonk softball one of the top programs in Westchester County.

Go Lady Bobcats!!

Sincerely,

Christopher Conigliaro
